$1.3M sought for courthouse restoration

An effort is underway by county officials to secure $1.3 million in funding from the Florida Legislature during the current session to renovate and restore the 116-year-old Jefferson County Courthouse. The projected cost of the repair and renovation work is based on an assessment done by MLD Architects LLC, which identified a multitude of needed repairs and/or modifications to both the exterior and interior of the historic building, as well as to its surrounding landscaping.
