Newcomers Hightower, Gramling and Frisby emerge winners

As of Tuesday’s primary, Jefferson County has a new clerk of court, new county commissioner and new school board member, while two incumbents were returned to office with overwhelming support.
The new officials are Clerk of Court Cecil “Trey” Hightower, District 1 County Commissioner Jessica Lane Gramling, and District 1 School Board Member Joy Beth Frisby. The two incumbents returned to offices with overwhelming support were Sheriff Mac McNeill and District 4 School Board Member Bill Brumfield.
