4-H club explores a funeral home

In our continuing series of visiting businesses and buildings in our town, the 4-H Explorers' Club visited Beggs Funeral Home in Monticello. Ashli McCall, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, met with us, talked about her job and showed us around this interesting location. The Beggs were some of the earliest funeral parlors in Florida. We learned that furniture makers were the original makers of caskets. Beggs has been in the funeral business for 138 years.
