We know summer isn’t summer without 4-H camp so we will be offering some limited capacity in-person camps at the UF/IFAS Jefferson County Extension Office this summer!
2021 Jefferson County 4-H Summer Camps:
Field to Fork Day Camp - (June 15-17) is for youth ages 11 to 14. Field to Fork camp is focused on connecting youth to their food. Campers will have the opportunity to tour a local farm and processing facility, and learn basic grilling skills! Campers will get to participate in hands-on gardening and grilling. Camp will end with a grill off where campers can showcase the skills they’ve learned. Camp will take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. The cost to attend Field to Fork camp is $30.
Natural Resources Day Camp - (July 13-15) is for youth ages eight to 11. Campers will be able to participate in outdoor activities focused in the areas of forestry, wildlife and conservation. The goal of this camp is to teach youth to be environmental stewards by respecting and protecting the environment. Campers will participate in hands-on plant and animal identification. Camp will take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. The cost to attend Natural Resources camp is $30.
Five to seven Year Old Day Camp (July 20-21) is for youth ages five, six and seven. Campers will participate in hands-on crafts, outdoor cooking and educational activities. Camp is from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. The cost to attend the camp is $20 per camper.
Each camp will be following the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines such as social distancing and mask-wearing. Each day camp will be held at the UF/IFAS Jefferson County Extension Office located at 2729 W. Washington Hwy, Monticello, Fla.
Please keep in mind that camps will be operating at limited capacity and each camp has a limit of 10 campers, so be sure to register early! Scholarships to attend summer camp are available.
