
Judge issues formal restitution order (Reams requests rehearing)

Following oral arguments by the state and defense attorneys in a restitution hearing on Monday, Jan. 13, in Leon County, Circuit Judge Stephen Everett recently issued a ruling on how much money the county should recoup from the three defendants formerly with the clerk of court’s office and who either pled or were convicted of grand theft and/or organized scheme to defraud.
In his Order of Restitution and Forfeiture, signed on Wednesday, Feb. 5, Everett set the amounts that defendants Kirk Reams, Warren Charles Culp, and Justin Tyler McNeill must repay to the county “jointly and severally.”
Reams was formerly the Jefferson County clerk of court,
