“Palmetto Pioneers: The Emigrants” wins gold medals

Local author Cindy Roe Littlejohn has been honored by the Florida Authors and Publishers Association with three awards for her book, “Palmetto Pioneers: The Emigrants.” In a formal awards celebration at the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace on Aug. 3, the association presented its 2024 President’s Book Awards, with three of them going to the first book in Littlejohn's “Palmetto Pioneers” series. “The Emigrants” received a gold medal in the History category, a gold medal in the Biography category, and a silver medal for the Cover Design created by her niece Hannah McDonald Dryka.
