A-Building renovation work to restart soon

After much ado and several deadline extensions from the Florida Department of State (FDOS) relative to a $500,000 grant awarded to the county for the continuing restoration of the historic Monticello High School, another phase of the work should soon be getting underway.
As of the latest developments, the FDOS has extended the deadline for the county’s use of the $500,000 grant until Dec. 31, up from the earlier deadline of February.
As County Manager Shannon Metty explained it to the Jefferson County Commission on Thursday morning, July 18, efforts are underway to get the construction started as soon as possible.
