A Good Excuse

“A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests.  At the time of the banquet, he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ But they all alike began to make excuses.” (Parable found in Luke 14:16). Excuses. We hear them all the time. Many of us at some time have made them. Some excuses are better than others. Throughout my years of ministry, I’ve heard many good excuses for why someone didn’t make it to worship on a particular Sunday.
