Monticello is only a few years short of its bicentennial in 2027, a fact that may shock old and new residents alike. Two hundred years of history have culminated in this little town, and this is reflected in the grand buildings that still stand after all this time. There are estimated to be hundreds of historical buildings in Jefferson County, which is certainly significant.
