A southern tradition worth growing: White Acre peas

The familiar snap of pea pods, stories shared on a shady porch, and a bowl slowly filling with fresh White Acre peas are memories many North Florida families have cherished for generations. While shelling peas may not be everyone's favorite chore, few would argue with the reward of a pot of fresh White Acre peas on the dinner table.
