It is only April, but it has been an amazing start to the year, and it is almost time to bid the Senior Warrior Athletes a farewell as they will be walking down the graduation aisle soon. From baseball to softball, to tennis, they have been recognized, celebrated, and loved enough this season to send them off with memories for a lifetime.
Madison Rudd will be greatly missed! Currently a softball senior, she has been actively involved in multiple sports including volleyball and basketball. Some may have even seen her working as a water girl on the sidelines helping with the football team. This year has been extra special for Rudd because she was the only senior celebrated on the softball team! Sports have been a huge part of her life and she has made some big achievements during her high school years. Perhaps, one of the most memorable moments for her was when she made her 1,000th point mark during the Teddy Bear Toss game. It was a most cherished moment when she ran up the bleachers to hug her parents quickly before continuing the game. Rudd has officially signed a letter of intent with Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and will be continuing her softball career while she pursues educational goals.
Many people may recognize Jace Grant, who is a beast of an athlete on the football field. He could run from one end of the field to the other in a blink of an eye and get those touchdowns! During his last season of football, he set a single season record of 1866 yard. He played basketball and now is finishing up his last season of baseball. Grant was just announced as one of the chosen athletes for the 29th Annual Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team. He will be receiving a $1,700 scholarship and a commemorative medallion.
Last month, on March 11th, Gabe Gamalero was awarded the Biletnikoff Scholarship. It was presented by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. He has made several big achievements during his high school athletic career. Last year, Gamalero was selected for the baseball Player of the Year award by the Florida Christian Athletic League.
Ryan Adams is currently co-captain of the Warriors Varsity baseball team. Last year he received football defensive player of the year. After acquiring a college degree, Adams plans to join the Airforce as an officer and become a pararescue. As of now, he has no plans to continue an athletic career in college. He intends to focus on academics.
Caroline Taylor is currently a Senior on the Varsity Warriors Tennis team. Last May, she was awarded MVP at A.C.A. athletic banquet. Taylor has also previously been honored as a member of the volleyball team. She loves to travel and has visited many places including Alaska and Greece! She has also enjoyed being in the Beta Club.
Brewster Bass is also a Senior on the Varsity Warriors Tennis Team. He has played tennis since he was in 6th grade! He has been actively involved in sports including weightlifting and football. He plans to attend the University of North Florida in pursuance of a degree in business management. Bass received the highest GPA in English III Honors and has been deemed MVP Varsity Tennis Player for the past three years. He is also a member of the Beta Club and is looking forward to a planned mission trip this summer to Costa Rica.
Congratulations to all six Warrior athletes as they prepare to walk down the graduation isle and face life as they know it in a different light. The future holds many great adventures, educational journeys, and career advancements for them.
