There were 960 students representing 37 Beta Clubs from around the State of Florida at the Florida Senior Beta Club Convention on Friday, Jan. 17 and Saturday, Jan. 18.
Among those students and clubs were 16 Beta Club students from Jefferson County's Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA).
The 16 ACA Warriors traveled to Orlando, Fla. in order to attend this convention, with several students returning home with awards and honors of their own.
The attending Beta Club students were: Lillie Schwier (ninth grade), Samuel Kennedy (ninth grade), Kasey Chmura (tenth grade), Ginger Whiddon (eleventh grade), Alissa Roland (eleventh grade), Sarah Plain (eleventh grade), Janvi Patel (eleventh grade), Janki Patel (eleventh grade), Riley Hamrick (eleventh grade), Matthew Arceneaux (eleventh grade), Wyatt Stafford (eleventh grade), MaryRose Schwier (eleventh grade), James Hightower (eleventh grade), Kolton Grambling (eleventh grade), Selina Drawdy (eleventh grade) and Joey Davis (eleventh grade).
While all of the 16 ACA students who attended the convention were noted for their creativity and engagement, four students were recognized and awarded for the various accomplishments in differing areas of the convention.
Those four students were Samuel Kennedy, who won first place in Division 1's Ninth Grade Science Competition; Lillie Schwier, who won first place in Division 1's Black and White Photography Competition; Sarah Plain, who won first place in Division 2's Sculpture Competition; and Janki Patel, who won third place in Division 2's Fiber Arts Competition.
When asked about the convention, ACA Beta Sponsor and trip chaperone, Jodi Conrad stated: “I am over the moon proud of our 16 ACA students. I was full of joy watching the kids get excited about being creative, smart, and engaged alongside like-minded teens. I pray this is just the beginning!”
“Aucilla Christian Academy is proud of these students’ academic accomplishments and for their dedication to serving the Lord both inside and outside the classroom,” added the school itself.
