Aucilla Christian Academy is currently competing in their second year of weightlifting, and hosted the inaugural Warrior Weightlifting Invitational early last week. Aucilla Christian Academy in Jefferson County, Bell High School in Gilchrist County, and Brookwood School in Thomasville, Ga., participated in the tournament with teams and individuals competing for trophies and medals. By the end of the meet, Bell High finished in 1st place, ACA placed 2nd, and Brookwood came in 3rd. Aucilla Warriors Ben Gamalero and Jace Grant earned metals by winning in their weight classes.
Coach Roberts expressed great satisfaction with how the season has gone this year, saying, “With this being just the second year we've competed in weightlifting, I am very proud of our kids and all the hard work they've been putting into the season. Our participation numbers have doubled since last year and the boys are making great gains in the weight-room that helped them succeed in all aspects of athletics.”
Presently, the ACA weightlifting team's record stands at 2-2, with the final match of the season to take place on Friday, Mar. 11 at 3:30 p.m. at Aucilla Christian Academy. ACA will be competing against Hamilton County High School from Jasper, Fla. Give 'em your best, Warriors!!
