On Thursday, Sept. 17, the Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) Warriors girls volleyball teams played against the Branford Buccaneers at an away match. The varsity and junior varsity teams had back-to-back matches, both resulting in a loss to the Buccaneers. This time, the Buccaneers were able to overpower the Warriors. With four different volleyball teams, ACA has plenty of opportunities for success.
In the first match, junior varsity, the Warriors fell in two straight-sets, at 25 to 13 and 25 to 18. The defeat wasn’t easy, as the Warriors kept their defense and offense strong throughout the game.
In the next match, varsity put up an impressive battle against the invading Buccaneers. They secured the first two sets with scores of 25 to 22 and 25 to 16, but lost their footing in the last three sets. The Buccaneers won sets three, four and five at scores of 25 to 16, 25 to 22, and 15 to 12, securing the win for their team.
The Warriors are set to play against the Blountstown Tigers on Thursday, Sept. 24. Junior varsity will take place at 5:30 p.m., followed by varsity at approximately 6:30 p.m.
