Agreements set agencies’ responsibilities during declared disasters

County officials recently approved memorandums of understanding or agreement (MOU/MOA) among the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), the health department and G-FAST relative to the emergency management points of distribution (PODs) and mutual aid services in disaster situations.
As explained by Assistant County Attorney Evan Rosenthal to the Jefferson County Commission on Thursday, July 11, the JCSO and Florida Department of Health have assigned responsibilities related to the distribution of food, water, medical and other supplies to the public at specified locations during a state or national declared disaster.
