Jefferson County Fire Rescue (JCFR) recently announced that a member of the agency's team, Cameron Allen, has been recognized as Firefighter of the Year for 2020.
Allen is a graduate of Chiles High School in Tallahassee, Fla. He attended Tallahassee Community College for his Firefighter and Emergency Medical Services (EMT) training and graduated from the paramedic program at Chipola College, in Marianna, Fla.
Since May of 2017, Allen has worked at JCFR and he is currently on the fire rescue's C-Shift.
His goal is to obtain a Florida Fire Officer Certification and become a fire instructor and inspector.
“He is a great asset to the county,” says JCFR Chief Derrick Burrus. “He's well-liked by all, except when he beats them in basketball.”
When Allen isn't at the station, he spends his time boating and fishing with his faithful dog “Cooper” or engaging in other outdoor adventures.
