Angela Brittle Turner passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 18, 2022. She entered fully into the presence of the Lord and received her crown of glory.
Angela is survived by the loves of her life, her husband, Jon Frost Turner, and her children and grandchildren: Michael Bruce Turner (Elizabeth), Jon Wetzel, Boland Henry; Jessica (Turner) Taggart (Jason), Turner Michael, Emerson Jason, and Adella Grace. She is also survived by nieces, Amber Phillips (Jerry), Ashley McCall (Thomas), and nephew, Peter Penrose (Nicki). She is preceded in death by her father, Andrew Wilson Brittle, and mother, Edna Boland Brittle, as well as her sister, Carlotta Brittle Hanney, and brother-in-law, Clayton Edward Hanney.
Angela was born in Wacissa, Fla., on Feb. 25, 1944. She attended Jefferson County High School, where she had many achievements and accomplishments. Special honors were being crowned Watermelon Queen in 1961 and Senior Class favorite. She always personified beauty and class. She attended Florida State University design school. Angela had a thriving and successful business, Custom Interiors, established in 1970. There she shared her God-given talent for interior design with her beloved, long-standing clients. Angela loved participating in numerous local philanthropies and charities, such as Boys Town North Florida and Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. One of her most cherished accomplishments was her commitment to her Ladies Bible Study Group, which she began over 34 years ago in her home. Angela was an anointed leader and dedicated to the study and knowledge of God’s word.
Angela was deeply loved by family, friends, and clients. She leaves behind an amazing legacy and influence in her love for beauty, gift of hospitality, savvy fashion sense, appreciation for art, music, and design, and most important her deep faith and trust in God. These wonderful attributes and loving traits will live on through the lives of her children, grandchildren and future generations to come.
A service celebrating Angela’s life was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 120 W. Park Avenue, in Tallahassee, with interment at Beth Page Cemetery in Wacissa. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Angela may be made to The Department of Interior Architecture and Design, College of Fine Arts, Florida State University.
