Tri-County Electric Cooperation (TCEC)'s Energizing Education Scholarship, established by the Board of Trustees, was created in an effort to provide education support for qualified members and their families in Jefferson, Madison and Taylor counties. High school seniors and nontraditional undergraduate students are eligible to apply.
Scholarships, up to $2,000, are awarded to students planning to continue their education at various accredited Universities, Community Colleges, or Technical Colleges in the state of Florida.
Applicants for the scholarship are evaluated not just on GPA or class rank, but on community service and extracurricular activities as well.
TCEC understands the current challenges that high school seniors face due to the impact of COVID-19, because of this the co-op has implemented changes to the application requirements to make the scholarship more accessible to students during this time. Letters of recommendation, official acceptance into university, college, of technical college, are no longer needed to apply.
The following should be submitted with a completed application:
• Transcript
• Formal Letter of Intent
• Photo ID
• 500-word essay on one of the two assigned topics.
1. Why are electric cooperatives still relevant today?
2. What can electric cooperatives do to help improve quality of life for our community?

Applications can also be picked up and returned to any TCEC office through the drive-thru.
High school counselors at schools in Madison, Jefferson, Taylor and Dixie Counties have access to the application and can assist students through the process as well.
TCEC has many ways that students can submit completed applications including uploading to the TCEC website, by fax (850) 973-1209, or mail to the TCEC Headquarters in Madison at: 2862 W. US 90, Madison, Fla. 32340.
