
ARI holds archaeological dig in Drifton with students

On the morning of Friday, Jan. 10, students from Jefferson County K-12 (JCS) and homeschool students gathered at Trelawn Plantation in Drifton for an archaeological dig in partnership with the Aucilla Research Institute (ARI). ARI frequently hosts student digs as part of their educational outreach program, and the Trelawn Plantation site has been a popular spot to introduce students to the world of archaeology for the past few years. Currently, they visit the site with students on a weekly basis, weather permitting.
