
“Ascension & Regression” exhibit shows at JAG June 4-7

Jefferson Arts Gallery is hosting the exhibit “Ascension & Regression: The Faces of the New Black Middle Class (1890-1930)” from Wednesday, June 4, through Saturday, June 7. For this traveling show, the gallery will be open daily 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The exhibit contains photographs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries that reflect life for the Black Middle Class post-emancipation. The images, sourced from the Meek-Eaton Black Archives at Florida A&M University (FAMU), are on traveling display to the public through a grant from the Florida Humanities Council, with additional support from COCA (Council on Culture & Arts) and Goo
