Aucilla Shores road problems may soon be eased

County officials recently had good news for residents who live off private dirt roads that regularly experience flooding and other problems when it rains, such as in Aucilla Shores.
Commissioner Chris Tuten announced at the Jefferson County Commission meeting on March 21 that thanks to efforts by him, County Manager Shannon Metty and others, the county had been able to secure $3.6 million in funding from the legislature for road improvement projects, with $1 million of the funding earmarked for Aucilla Shores.
