The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 49, of Monticello, participated in Flea Across Florida with a successful yard sale and drawing. We would like to thank our generous donors and supporters for their contributions to our fund raising efforts. Without the generous support of our community, we wouldn’t be able to offer aid and help to our local veterans and citizens.
Each of the following businesses donated money, gift cards or services for our drawing, and we would encourage every Monticello citizen to support your hometown merchants and businesses. Please drop in and says thanks for their support: Cow Haus, 100 N. Jefferson; Trophy Creek Outfitters, 165 Walnut St.; Stewarts Station, 175 S. Jefferson St.; Tupelo's Bakery, 220 W.Washington St.; It's Personal, 230 W. Washington St.; ABC Maintenance, 230 W. Washington St.; and Kountry Kutz, 135 E. Dogwood St.
Founded in 1919, The American Legion Auxiliary has nearly one million members from all walks of life. The Auxiliary administers hundreds of volunteer programs, gives tens of thousands of hours to its communities and to veterans, and raises millions of dollars to support its own programs, as well as other worthwhile charities familiar to Americans. It is all accomplished with volunteers.
We welcome prospective members to come join us the second Tuesday of each month at the American Legion Hall. We enjoy a potluck supper with the Legion at 6 p.m., then the Auxiliary meets for our monthly meeting.
