Backpack Buddies combat food insecurity

Since 2016, the Backpack Buddies of Jefferson County have made it their mission to help provide food-insecure children in our county with nutritious food and words of encouragement. Backpack Buddies is a year-round program; through a partnership with Jefferson K-12, children are selected by the school based on need, and are given a bag of food to take home with them to help combat food insecurity at home.
