Backpack Buddies come through for Christmas

Heather Ainsley ECB Publishing, Inc. This Thanksgiving, the Backpack Buddies of Jefferson County delivered gifts, blankets, food and turkeys for the children and families in their program. This Christmas, the spirit of giving continues, as they provided gifts for 46 children, gifts for the caregivers, and bags of food and a ham for the 36 families in their program. These items were all provided by members of the community. Each of the children in the Backpack Buddy program has a sponsor who shopped for gifts to give them this holiday season. The wrapped gifts were then picked up by adults from each family, and every child also received a hat, gloves, a Christmas book and an ornament. Th
