Bailey Kate and Lil Bit earn Blue Ribbon in Showmanship at the North Florida Fair

Heather Ainsley ECB Publishing, Inc. This November marked a big milestone for 10-year-old Monticello 4-H member, Bailey Kate Bridges, and her 9-month-old beef heifer, Lil Bit. On Nov. 16 and 17, the pair competed in the North Florida Fair and walked away with a Blue Ribbon in Showmanship and a title of Grand Champion AOB Heifer for Lil Bit's weight class. After earning a blue ribbon, Lil Bit was entered into a secondary competition, the Champion Drive, where she and Bailey Kate competed against three other Blue Ribbon winners. Despite their best efforts, the pair placed last in the finals, but Bailey Kate says she is happy with the Blue Ribbon and learned a lot from both competitions.
