Barbara Tharpe, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Dec. 7, 2021 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. She was a devout Florida Gator fan and an avid fisherman. One of her greatest joys was redfishing on the flats with her family. The only thing she loved more than the Gators and fishing was her family. She spent every moment she could showering her grandbabies and great grandbabies with love. She was a proud nurse for many years within the Tallahassee community and took great pride in her work. Her family rejoices on this day, as she has longed to be reunited with her son.
She is preceded in death by her father, John H. Tharpe, Sr.; mother, Marjorie Grantham Tharpe; son, Doug Sculley; sisters, Hilda Sculley and Nelda Wilder; and brother, John H. Tharpe, Jr. She is survived by family, Dan Sculley (Kelly), Danielle Stephens (Scott), Makayla Lopeman (Trevor), Micah, Caleb and Cameron Sculley, McKenzie, Adalyn and Aleeha Stephens, Aubriella, Kolton and Tessa Lopeman, Bella Warmack, Lila Pridgeon, Delida Brinson, Jeanna Sculley and Cathy Sculley.
In lieu of service, immediate family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
