Be prepared! Hurricane season is almost here!

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) last week released its outlook for the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season; not surprisingly, its prediction calls for above-normal activity, not unlike earlier forecasts by other weather experts.
Per NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center’s announcement, released on Thursday, May 23, the hurricane season – which officially begins June 1 and runs through Nov. 30 – is given an 85 percent chance of having above-normal activity. It is given a 10 percent chance of near-normal activity and a five percent of below-normal activity.
