Benjamin James Scott (BJ) was born April 5, 1944, in Jefferson County, Fla., the seventh son of the late Rev. Isaiah & Alneater Hogan Scott.
Benjamin attended Howard Academy School in Monticello, Fla.
Benjamin found great pleasure and joy riding around talking and joking with family and friends. Never a stranger to anyone, they were the "Buffalo Hunters".
He was employed at Chevron. He always talked about his co-workers: Mr. Austin Hosford and Ms. Pam Graves and enjoyed their company.
Benjamin peacefully transitioned to be with his heavenly father on Friday night, April 2, 2021.
Benjamin is survived by his siblings: Robert Scott, Sr., Monticello, Fla.; Willie James Scott (Dorothy), Live Oak, Fla.; Geneva Smith, Tallahassee, Fla.; Lois S. Glenn, Boston, Ga.; Jeraline Saulsberry, Tallahassee, Fla.; Doris S. Jacobs (Joseph T.), Wildwood, Fla.; sisters-in-law: Rosa Scott and Aline Johnson, Monticello, Fla.; God Brother: Alfonso Reed, Monticello, Fla., and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Hagan & Bradwell Funeral Service, 175 N. Railroad St., and Graveside Service will be at 10 a.m., Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Boland Cemetery, Boland Cemetery Road, Lamont, Fla.
