Betty Jean Russell, 77, of Monticello unexpectedly passed on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021. Graveside services, with COVID-19 observance, will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, in Oakfield Cemetery, Monticello.
Russell was an active member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in several ministries. She earned her nurse's assistant certification and after 30 years as a surgical technician supervisor at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital (TMH), she retired.
Cherishing precious memories are her daughters; Wanda Brooks, Agnes (Terrell) Kimbrough, Suzette Bellamy and Katrina Akins; sons, Emmanuel J. Francis and Kelvin (Nikki) Brown; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Gloria and Mariah Miller; brothers, Alphonso (Dorothy) Miller and Warner (Vivian) Miller and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
