Big Brothers Big Sisters celebrate a successful local match

In 2022, Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of the Big Bend sought to re-establish its one-on-one youth mentoring services in Jefferson County through an agreement with the school board to offer a site-based program at Jefferson County K-12 School. Before long, a local match between Big Sister Clara Herrera and Little Brother Derek was made, and recently, the two celebrated one full year of having a successful mentoring relationship.
BBBS wants all youth to achieve their full potential, and its mission is to “create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.” To help ensure that each match between a “Big
