
Bill seeks to do away with algebra and English exams in high school

Students may no longer be required to pass algebra or English exams to graduate from high school if a bill recently approved by the Florida Senate is signed into law.
Senate Bill 166, which Senator Corey Simon sponsored, is titled Administrative Efficiency In Public School. The bill, among its several goals, seeks to eliminate algebra and English tests as a requirement for high school graduation, although the scores from the exams would still be factored into the final course grades.
