SW Ellis and her company, Blue Bird Homes & Lands Inc., are now in a new location at 1405 W. Washington, in Monticello.
Ellis, originally from Goshen, N.Y., relocated to Monticello with her husband in 1991 and started her real estate career shortly after arriving here. Ellis has 27 years of experience in the North Florida Real estate market.
Among her achievements is being the first person from northwest Florida to sit on the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC). That achievement also made her the first female African American to sit on the FREC.
Although not presently an active member of the commission, Ellis stated that she works with the commission every few months, dealing with accusations of misconduct against agents. Her responsibility is to determine whether or not probable cause exists to prove an agent has committed an act of misconduct and needs to be referred to the FREC for action.
Ellis has one agent in the office, and between them they have over 50 years experience. The staff of Blue Bird Homes & Lands Inc. is available to serve Jefferson County residents for their commercial, residential and farm real estate needs. To inquire about their services, call the office at (850) 997-1360.
