The Florida Department of Health in Jefferson County (DOH - Jefferson) is pleased to announce that Bob and Jeff’s Neighborhood Market is now approved as a Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program vendor. This update comes at an important time for families in the community, following the recent closure of a previously local WIC vendor grocery store.
As an authorized WIC vendor, Bob and Jeff’s will now offer a full range of eligible WIC foods, ensuring that individuals and families who rely on the program continue to have access to nutritious options close to home. WIC provides healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and referrals to health and social services for income-eligible pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children up to age five.
“Maintaining accessible nutrition resources for our families is a top priority,” said Kimberly Allbritton, DOH-Jefferson health officer/administrator. “We are grateful to Bob and Jeff’s for stepping forward to support our community and help ensure that WIC participants have reliable access to the healthy foods.”
WIC staff are available to assist families with questions about WIC benefits, vendor locations and enrollment in Jefferson County on Mondays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at DOH-Jefferson, located at 1255 W. Washington St.
