Bonnie Merritt Wilder, 92, passed away on April 16, 2022, in Tallahassee, Fla. She was born November 13, 1929, in Graceville, Fla., the daughter of William C. and Etta B. (Kellum) Merritt.
Bonnie, whose husband, Arthur Wilder, was in the U.S. Army, lived in Fayetteville, N.C., Ft. Eustice, Va., and Ft. Benning, Ga., before moving to Monticello, Fla., where she spent most of her life and was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. Bonnie was a seamstress at Artistic Apron Factory for ten and a half years, a caretaker at Cross Landings Health and Rehabilitation Center, and very much enjoyed fishing and quilt making.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings: Lottie Crosby, James Merritt, Ruby Vinson, Earl Merritt, and Eunice Welch. Survivors include her daughter, Joann Clark ( Joel); grandsons, Jeffrey Clark (Erin) and Jason Clark (Christy); five great-grandchildren, Hailey Clark, Natalie Clark, Chance Clark, Morgan Allen, Bailey Allen; and one great-great-grandchild, Paisley Anne.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 4124 Bassett Dairy Road, Monticello, Fla. There will be a viewing one hour prior at the church. Interment will follow at Elizabeth Cemetery in Monticello. Arrangements by Beggs Funeral Home, 485 E. Dogwood St., Monticello, Fla.
