Brenda Ruth Boland, 74, was born on Sept. 9, 1946 in Waynesville, N.C. to the late William and Eulalia Hockaday. Her father worked for the FAA and they lived in Jacksonville, Fla., where she graduated high school and attended college. Brenda joined the United States Air Force at the age of 23. Stationed in Nebraska where she met her husband Ronnie. After her time in the service was complete, they returned to Ronnie’s hometown in Florida. Brenda worked for Jefferson County School Services for many years.
Her family and friends fondly nicknamed her BB. She lived on a small farm in Limestone, Fla. surrounded by her husband and children. BB was known for her love of animals but specifically dogs and horses. At one time she raised Jack Russel Terriers and Doxies. BB and Ronnie were familiar faces among the local horse show communities. Brenda was cherished and will be greatly missed by friends and family.
BB is survived by Ronnie Boland, her husband of 51 years; son, Blue Boland; daughters: Victoria Boland and Janet Hines; sisters: Becky (Robert) Smith and Peggy Brodnax; grandchildren: Hunter and Tyler Boland; brother-in-law, Dale (Julie) Boland; aunt, Myrna Hayes; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents and sister, Patricia Greenlee.
Private services for immediate family will be held at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.
