Members of JOY (Jefferson Outreach for Youth) are gearing up for their annual toy drive, which will provide Christmas gifts for local youngsters.
This is the time of the year when donations are solicited to help with the drive.
Shortly, folks will see decorated boxes around town where donated toys can be left. Monetary donations are also needed and can be mailed to JOY Box 25 in Monticello.
The children who receive gifts are between five and 13 years old. Presents are not extravagant, mostly simple, available toys. For girls, dolls, crayons, jump rope and sweatshirts are suggested. For boys, board games, balls, bats, blankets and comic books are suggested.
While JOY is in the early stages of the toy drive, parents will be making applications for gifts for their children.
