This year's Build-A-Bucket event, hosted by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Division of Emergency Management, was well attended with the line of vehicles stretching from 169 Industrial Park to Highway 19. The drive-through event included several area residents, non-profits and businesses participating in the sharing of information about hurricane season and how to be prepared for the worst case scenario.
Booths were stationed along the driveway with representatives from the different groups handing out their collection of valuable information and giveaway items. They also took a moment to visit with and answer quick questions as the vehicles passed.
Participating in the event were representatives and volunteers with Big Bend Cares, CERT, Jefferson County School Board Superintendent Eydie Tricquet and Jefferson Somerset Academy, Simply Healthcare, Florida Department of Health, Florida Department of Forestry, UF/IFAS County Extension Office, Board of County Commissioners, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Division of Emergency Management.
