Hurricane season is on its way, and the Jefferson County Sherriff's Office Division of Emergency Management, in coordination with area nonprofit and local businesses is here to help the community be prepared. This year, Jefferson County Emergency Management will be holding their Build a Bucket event as a drive-thru for safety precautions due to COVID-19.
the community of all ages to come and see what it takes to be prepared and receive their own disaster preparedness kit. Jefferson County Emergency Management will also be giving out disaster starter kits to the first 100 people who come to the event. The event will take place on April 16, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at 169 Industrial Park in Monticello.
