Businessman may revive plan for new facility in Lloyd

Lloyd businessman Arun Kundra recently approached county officials, intent on reviving a plan for the development of his extensive property on the southwest quadrant of the I-10 and SR-59 interchange.
Kundra reminded the Jefferson County Commission on Thursday morning, Dec. 5, that some six or so years earlier, it had approved an application for a $1.5 million Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for infrastructure improvements at the Lloyd interchange to assist in the development of his business.
Unfortunately, Kundra said, the grant application period had expired during the pandemic and he had been unable to take action on it.
