Cafeteria workers walk out at Jefferson K-12

Cafeteria workers at Jefferson K-12 School declared themselves to be on strike as of Tuesday morning, April 2.
“We’re on strike as of today,” Cafeteria Manager Mary Singleton told the Monticello News/Jefferson Journal outside the school gates early Tuesday morning.
Standing with Singleton were Rachelle Burt and Yashica Howard. All three said that they were protesting the work conditions and alleged bullying and harassment by School Superintendent Eydie Tricquet. Per their representations, all seven cafeteria workers were striking with them.
“No one who is food certified will be serving lunch today,” Singleton said.
