At 4:50 p.m. on Friday, June 5, Jefferson County 911 Dispatch sent out a call to the county's first responders, alerting them of a vehicle wreck near the intersection of Old Lloyd Road and Casa Bianca Road.
According to the report issued by the Jefferson County Fire Rescue, 911 dispatchers informed them of the vehicle accident, and the firefighters and paramedics were alerted to the fact that the driver of the vehicle was trapped by the car.
When first responders arrived on scene, they found the driver pinned under her vehicle.
The mid-sized car had driven off the road, crashed into a palm tree and rolled onto its passenger side.
The driver was laying on her back, with only her upper torso visible through the front passenger window.
Paramedics checked on the driver, while the rest of the first response crew figured out a way to safely remove the driver from her flipped car.
First responders decided to place airbags under the front and back ends of the car, which would then lift the vehicle high enough off its side to pull the driver out.
After lifting the vehicle up several inches and securing cribbing blocks under the car to prevent it from fallen back down, EMS personnel were able to remove the driver from the car's window and place her on a backboard.
From there, the driver was transported to a medical facility via a Jefferson County ambulance to receive further medical care.
The responding Jefferson County Fire Rescue and EMS units were able to leave the scene by 5:45 p.m.
ECB Publishing, Inc. reached out to the Florida Highway Patrol (who oversees the release of wreck reports outside of the City of Monticello limits) but was unable to get a response from the patrol. Because of this, reporters have no further information regarding the cause of the wreck, the driver's identity or the conditions of her injuries as a result of the wreck.
