Far too often in our busy lives and schedules, we fail to show awareness to many essential workers who perform duties that have enriched the lives of those they serve. Bus drivers are among these workers.
Carrie White Boone Assembly (CWBA) regards our bus drivers and staff worthy of esteem, recognition and appreciation for the duties they perform for our county and, most significantly, our students.
CWBA Order of the Golden Circle operates under the auspices of the Fred Alexander Grand State Assembly and Florida Council of Deliberation, PHA, whose mission and purpose is focused on service.
CWBA implements an annual activity calendar where each member chooses and leads a concerted, charitable or humanitarian activity. Thanks to Loyal Lady Ayanna Leonard for the insight of these unperceived, but important workers. In the spirit of the holidays, she spearheaded a merited, overdue appreciation event for our county school's transportation crew.
After safely transporting their precious cargo (children) to their destination (school), on Friday, Dec. 16, at 8:15 a.m., CWBA members welcomed the entire transportation personnel to the bus barn lounge for various donuts, juices and gifts. Notably present was Jefferson County Superintendent of Schools Eydie Tricquet, who also presented gift bags to the honorees.
Honorees were Transportation Manager Nicky Seaton; Inspector/Mechanic Willie Carr; Bus Drivers Annette Benjamin, Letoshia Bivens, David Crumitie, Christine Ford, Willie Hawkins, Mary Howard, Lashara Macon, Teresa Martinez, Gary Scott, Lucius Wade and Darren White; and Bus Aides Emmerald Graham and Lashonda Graham.
If you meet any of these devoted individuals, give them a “Thank You!” for their commitment to the compelling, tedious task they perform.
Assembly members were Loyal Ladies Michelle Seabrooks, Ruler; Virginia Alexander, Secretary; Gwendlyn Wilkins, Herald; Mary Madison, PLLR, Historian, Public Relations; and Ayanna Leonard, Event Coordinator.
