Cecelia P. Tolbert, known to many as “Ceil” and “Cissy,” passed peacefully on March 29, 2022, from the arms of her husband of 38 years, Clayton Tolbert, to the hands of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Ceil is survived by her daughter, Tracie Lawrence (Michael); her son, Todd Bullard (Courtney); and her grandchildren, Jamie, Austin, Jeremy, Tyler and Anna. Ceil also is survived by one brother, Harry Roney (Dot); her mother-in-law, Allene McKenna; sisters-in-law, Vicki Martin and Tracey Knowles (Granville); one aunt, Arlene Young; several beautiful nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces; and her friend for life, Susan Anderson (Don).
For 35 years, Ceil was a self-employed cosmetologist, becoming the owner of Pro-Cuts Unlimited. She also was employed by the Jefferson County School Board for nine years.
Ceil's memorial service will be delayed and scheduled at the time of her husband's death. The couple's cremated remains will be joined and interred in Monticello, during their graveside service. Young-Fulford Funeral Home and Crematory of Tallahassee are the arrangers and have established an online Tribute page for Ceil. In lieu of flowers or any other item, the family requests donations directly to Big Bend Hospice (Dozier Hospice House), known to the family as “Heaven on Earth,” complete with many angels.
