Ceremony marks 33rd anniversary of trooper’s death

On Saturday, Feb. 1, which marked the 33rd anniversary of the death of Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Trooper Jimmy Fulford, family, friends and members of the law-enforcement community gathered at the I-10 Aucilla off-ramp where he was killed to honor his memory.
The annual ritual, which draws a good representation of active and retired law-enforcement officers and others, typically includes a prayer, words of remembrance and of tribute, and shared stories of Fulford’s doings and his exemplary qualities by those who knew and served with him.
