Chamber luncheon highlights property assessments and property fraud

Members and guests of the Monticello-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce heard about property taxes and property fraud protection from the Jefferson County Property Appraiser and staff of the Clerk of Court's office at the monthly Chamber luncheon on Sept. 3.
Property Appraiser Angela Gray started the program by sharing some highlights from her office's “2024 Preliminary Report” that included current statistics on property values in Jefferson County. With dramatic effect she announced that the county had passed a significant threshold in 2024.
