The Monticello-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce has launched a grant program as another way to support local entrepreneurs. The program is designed to help Chamber members grow, develop and sustain their economic role in the community.
Each quarter, two members with five or fewer employees will each receive a $500 grant. The funds can be used to invest in advertising, upgrade equipment, enroll in training, purchase business licenses and enhance physical space. The Chamber encourages successful applicants to use awarded funds within Jefferson County, if a local vendor is available. The grants cannot be used for bonuses or debt repayments.
The grant application – available at MonticelloJeffersonFL.com/grants – asks simply for a brief description of the business and an explanation of how funds will be used. Applicants also have the option to upload supporting documents and photographs in order to help explain the project.
The deadline to apply for the first quarter grants is Friday, Feb. 21, and the selected recipients will be announced at the member luncheon on Tuesday, March 4.
For more information, stop by the Chamber office, located at 420 W. Washington St., or call (850) 997-5552.
