Charges not pursued against former cafeteria manager

Assistant State Attorney Cayelan Cwirka has determined that “no criminal charge encompasses the behavior” of Mary Singleton when handling monetary transactions in her capacity as the food service manager for Jefferson County K-12 School during the 2023-24 school year.
In March 2024, Singleton had been suspended from her position, with pay, while Superintendent of Schools Eydie Tricquet conducted an investigation. On April 2, the JCSO opened its own investigation, based on Tricquet's complaint alleging petit theft (less than $100) and false entry in books of business entity by Singleton.
