Charles Richard “Dick” Revell, 87, of Monticello, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 in Fernandina Beach, Fla. Dick was the youngest of seven siblings who predeceased him, three sisters and three brothers. He was in the service station business for over 50 years, owning his own business for 42 years where he walked faithfully to and from work each day for exercise. Dick served in the Florida National Guard and in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on a minesweeping ship. He loved to fish, swim, do yard work and had a strong work ethic - always busy doing something.
Dick is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eleanor Anne Folsom Revell; daughters, Anne Sherman (Reece), and Elizabeth Revell- Briggs (Rod); grandsons, Ben and Alex Sherman (Bailey), and beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends and neighbors.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the First United Methodist Church, in Monticello or any children’s charity such as St. Jude’s Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children. A graveside service was held at Roseland Cemetery on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 1 p.m.
