Citizen persists in effort to get street paved

If nothing else, Clayton Tolbert is persistent. The Monticello resident has been conducting a one-man campaign for about five years to convince city officials to approve the paving of Jackson Street near his residence.
After a long absence, Clayton has again begun regularly attending Monticello City Council meetings to press his request, often recording the exchanges on a tripod-mounted cell phone for documentation and later reference. His, in fact, is a standing request to be placed on every council agenda going forward until the issue gets resolved to his satisfaction.
