Citizen’s noble act encounters legal realities

Lazaro Aleman ECB Publishing, Inc. A local citizen’s attempt to do a good turn for the children in his neighborhood ran into legal realities that appear to have doomed the effort. Ronald Jones approached the Monticello City Council in December 2025 with a request that the city construct a shelter and bench at Tung and Second streets for a group of about 20 students who congregate there mornings to await the school bus. Jones, who regularly accompanies the students, said he feared that soone
